Helmed by Erin Allweiss and Melody Serafino, No. 29 Communications offers an extensive suite of services to help brands reach audiences and cultivate their image while showcasing their mission-driven ideals.

Allweiss and Serafino met while working at the same agency in NYC. Allweiss had worked in public policy and on various communications initiatives in Washington D.C. Serafino had spent almost a decade in the city rising through the ranks in media relations. The two connected immediately and found that they shared goals of using their PR prowess to support brands championing sustainability and social impact.

“Both of us had been trying to figure out ways to bridge the gap between working in communications and working on the things we care deeply about — sustainability, social justice, and other  issues that reflected our values,” said Serafino.

The pair launched No. 29 in 2013, long before sustainability was the established concept it is today in marketing and media.

“The conversation around climate, impact, and social justice work was in a very different place,” Serafino explained. “It still felt like a very siloed space.”

Since its launch, the agency has grown to a multifaceted enterprise offering services ranging from communications and creative direction to tastemaker relationships and activation planning to in-house photography. The pair attributes the growth of their team to their complementary skillsets and their commitment to the principles with which they first built their brand.

No. 29 works with clients spanning many different industries, from fashion and beauty to tech and parenting. Serafino says that their roster has been built and maintained very holistically and that they always prioritize transparency and trust when working with existing and potential clients.

“I never want us to be in a position to say yes to taking on a new client or campaign  and then not be able to deliver,” said Serafino. “Because everything we have done to date  has been based on our reputation, it’s important  that we  can deliver 150%. There are no guarantees in PR, but we pride ourselves on finding creative solutions to cut through the noise of the media landscape to tell important stories.”

These ideals and transparent partnerships have also helped them navigate an ever-changing PR landscape.

“This world is changing so quickly, and so it's exciting because we get an opportunity to really flex our creativity muscle,” Serafino explained.

The No. 29 team is already busy strategizing for the year ahead — but are also celebrating the many campaigns, activations, and initiatives they executed in 2025 with clients including VEJA, Kyrgies, TED, and New York Restoration Project.

“It’s a really interesting time to be working in our industry, because there are bright lights and people who are still doing good work despite what often feels like a very heavy state of affairs in the world,” said Serafino, “...these people  still have to charge forward, and their stories need to be amplified so  we're here to partner with them. Working with people on the frontlines of change is core to the DNA of who we are — and we're here to be a  trusted partner.”
