After working in corporate fashion for years, Arielle Crawford became discouraged by the lack of ethics and wasteful nature of the industry — so she decided to combat them with a clothing line of her own.

“I took a hiatus in South America where I became inspired by regenerative craft,” she explained. “I launched my label in 2018 with a commitment to sustainable materials, local and fair trade labor, consumer education and a plastic free footprint.”

Her namesake line ARIELLE features organic, mindfully-produced pieces made locally. Influenced by her hometown in West Texas, as well as her time spent in NYC, the label is filled with chic staples.

Crawford adheres to a rigorous criteria when creating her pieces. The looks, which are produced transparently in the Garment District, must be organic, regenerative, recycled, plastic free, and made as domestically as possible. Some innovative materials included in her line include mindful Milk Fabric and Irish Linen.

Crawford also helms the Citizens' Climate Lobby's Fashion Industry Action Team, which endorses climate-friendly legislation. With fashion being a major contributor to carbon emissions around the world, the team believes that sustainable clothing cannot fix fashion’s climate problem without the implementation of environmentally-friendly policies.

ARIELLE will welcome a new capsule collection soon, as well as some new mindful materials. More about Crawford and her designs can be found on her website
