Stems Brooklyn started out in front of a speakeasy in 2013. Today, it resides in a spacious studio in Bushwick, selling and showcasing beautiful, sustainably-sourced flower arrangements.

A brand centered around flowers may seem inherently eco-friendly. But, just like in every industry, businesses must make a conscious effort to eliminate wasteful or harmful practices. To make Stems as environmentally-friendly as possible, owner Suzanna Cameron sources flowers locally and works with what is in season. Her shop also dries its own flowers, composts, and donates a portion of its revenue.

Though Cameron and her designers make sustainability a priority in their arrangements , they definitely don’t sacrifice on aesthetics. Far from typical designs, the Insta-friendly arrangements beautifully amalgamate unique colors, sizes and textures. They also celebrate seasonal floral staples like spring carnations, summer dahlias and autumn chrysanthemums.

To further connect with its community, Stems hosts workshops, donates arrangements and works with non-profits and schools in the area. It’s also offering contact-free delivery and curbside pickups so people can still enjoy arrangements while staying safe.

More about Stems Brooklyn can be found on its website.
